My Mac is three, but Mac itself is 26.

Happy birthday, Mac. You just turned 26 today. It was a quarter of a century plus one years ago that the Oh-So-Holy Steve Jobs, The Jobs Himself, presented the Macintosh 128k to the World. It caused a stir back then. A computer that you can lift? Please!

Fast-forward twenty six years. Macs have revolutionized the consumer (and prosumer) computer industries. If it wasn’t for the Macs, computers nowadays wouldn’t have style: they would still be a big chunk of plastic. Now, they are big *beautiful* chunks of plastic and aluminum.

I love my Mac. It’s been three years since I bought it and I have to say I won’t be turning back to other brands of computers. It’s either Apple Macs or nothing. Sure, I want to run Windows 7 and I do like it a lot… but I wouldn’t run it on an HP or a Dell. I would run it using Boot Camp, on a Mac.

Call me a fanboy or what you will but… once you’ve used a Mac (give yourself around a month’s time to adjust to it, if you come from Windows) you’ll understand what it feels like. It’s just a whole other world. It’s easy to understand, easy to manage, and (something I like a lot) there’s keyboard shortcuts for everything. Oh, you can’t find a shortcut to that specific function you use a lot? Just go to System Preferences and add your own little shortcut, it’s that easy!

I could go on with how much I love Macs. But I won’t. I’ve got lots of friends that know how much I love them because I convinced them to buy Macs. And, hey, they’ve never looked back: they all love their them!

Oh, one more thing. This next Wednesday, Apple is set to revolutionize the computing world once again. Everyone talks about a large iPhone-like tablet computer, and I do hope it’s that. I’ll update on Wednesday with my thoughts on whatever is thrown at the world. See ya then!
